Milton Keynes incoming mayor has ambitious plans to open up city business to more than two hundred major cities around the world in a global partnership of trade and commerce.

The MK International Business City Virtual Conference will provide the chance for local companies to reach out to all corners of the globe, promoting themselves and the city to exciting new trading partners and markets.

The  initiative  is being launched on Thursday 9th May at 5.30pm at the Milton Keynes College Chaffron Way Campus.  The event is being organised in conjunction with Biztech, the business and technology forum.  It will be free to local business people and those wishing to attend are encouraged to register as soon as possible as numbers are limited.  Those who cannot make it to the venue can still take part by joining online via a webinar at www.biztech.org.uk

The city’s incoming Mayor, Councillor Brian White, will explain how he intends to use the next twelve months to promote Milton Keynes around the world and to establish new lines of communication with key conurbations.  He will be discussing the best ways that business and technology companies can take advantage of this plan which will culminate in the full virtual international conference in 2014.

Councillor White will also be outlining plans to attend the World Smart Cities Expo in Barcelona in November and new awards such as Young Entrepreneur, Major Exporter and Most Sustainable Development of the Year.  He will also be detailing proposals to encourage international partners to sign up to the Milton Keynes Landmine Charter.
