College show receives standing ovation!

Wed 10 Apr 2013

The talented team of students involved represented courses from across the board, including Levels Two and Three Performing Arts, Dance, Acting and Music as well as students studying the Production Arts course; even the live band who accompanied the performers all had to undergo a gruelling audition to make it on stage.

The heart-warming, fun-loving plot follows the love lives of Robbie, a successful wedding singer, played by L3 Extended Diploma in Music student Kian Vaziri and Julia, a waitress, played by L3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts student, Erin King and their unusual path to find love.  The musical begins with the pair engaged to the wrong people, but thankfully, fate intervenes and by the end, the two discover their true love for one another.

Each individual clearly showed a great enthusiasm and real commitment to the show and the quality of the overall performance was commendable. The final curtain saw the audience take to their feet to give a well-deserved standing ovation to the cast and backstage crew.

Many of our students are half way through their courses (from Level 2 right up to HND Level 4) here at MK College and so we can look forward to seeing them perform again in next year’s production. For those students taking the next step after leaving the College, we wish you all the greatest success in your careers, particularly, Erin king, the leading lady, who will be joining East 15 Acting School in September.

If you are interested in finding out more about the Performing Arts courses on offer at MK College, please go to the Course Finder on the website and select Performing Arts. Alternatively, we welcome all people interested in courses to come to open events to find out more. Details of the next open event can be found here.
