New business and leadership hub to boost MK start-ups

Milton Keynes College’s Silbury Campus (formerly UCMK) is offering top class facilities, accommodation and support for new businesses.  Office space is up for grabs to support new companies, SMEs and employers moving into the city from outside. Businesses can also take advantage of academic and vocational training courses and management and leadership qualifications provided by College lecturers.

Near neighbours from the business community in Silbury Boulevard have been treated to a sneak preview of the facilities on offer and had the chance to talk to some of the companies already taking advantage of what Silbury Campus has to offer.  Managing Director of Apollo Live, Amar Chauhan, says, “Being at Silbury Campus has significantly helped the business. It is in a central location which is essential and it has helped increase our productivity which ultimately leads to growth.   The meet your neighbour event was an excellent opportunity to connect with other local businesses.  It is particularly important for a start-up business like ourselves to get to know our neighbours and utilise the resources we have on our doorstep.”

The concept of Silbury Campus highlights the direction in which Milton Keynes College is moving. The impressive range of facilities and corporate services are part of a push to make the College integral to the business community in the city providing services and solutions for a plethora of development needs.

Director of Business and Engagement, Jane Horridge said, “I was delighted to see so many local businesses come to meet us and their neighbours today.  It was a great opportunity to understand each other better and forge some relationships which we can all continue to develop over time.”

Side by side with these new business facilities Silbury Campus will continue to deliver Higher Education to the city’s growing undergraduate student population, specifically business-focused courses.  The site is fully operational and campus staff are busy preparing to welcome new and returning HE students for the new academic year.
