I’m sure most of you don’t need convincing- social media is not a fad; it’s here to stay. It’s the modern day vehicle which inspires customer perceptions and drives brand awareness. Your customer lives online, and embracing a comprehensive online strategy is no longer optional in this increasingly digital world. 

Given the relentless dominance of social media, I am always stunned when I learn of businesses passing the torch to an inexperienced individual, purely to save costs. Riddle me this; why would you trust your online reputation— often the very first interaction consumers will have with your business - to an amateur? #Disaster 

The most common misconception is that social media is just about likes and follows, but there is so much more to it than posting status updates and retweeting. It’s a virtual fusion of branding, technology, reputation management, analytics, public affairs and public relations.

All too frequently I see people using social networks as just another channel to shout at people and simply push their marketing messages. Anyone can post a “check out our website!” tweet… but unleashing the true power of digital requires an acute understanding of social media algorithms and strategy. 

A professional will take the time to analyse your market share, understand your five year plan, and insure that your social media strategy fits harmoniously alongside your existing business goals. 
They will establish what platforms actually meet your vision by knowing where your target audience is active. They will understand trends, site traffic, best practices, account security, and how to actively engage your users - because your users are unique! So I encourage you; bring someone on board who’s going to collaborate with you on establishing your core brand message and who delivers a social strategy to feed directly into attaining your business goals - it’s worth the investment.
