For the third year in a row, The Hub has managed to raise a huge amount for a local charity thanks to its Facebook ‘likers’. The successful social media campaign, which ran throughout December, saw every new ‘like’ raise £1 for the MK Food Bank.

After raising £760 last year – The Hub really pushed hard this year to break the £1,000 barrier and today it has announced that £1,278 has been raised for this worthwhile local charity.

This significant amount for the charity will help to provide local families and individuals with essential food supplies at a time when they need it most, covering the days or sometimes weeks before other parts of the social care infrastructure can come into play.

Nicholas Brinner, spokesperson for the charity said, “The support from The Hub has been astonishing!  Every penny will go towards helping the MK Food Bank continue to provide an emergency food service for the people of Milton Keynes.  With demand on our service increasing year-on-year, it’s the generosity and support from our donors, and organisations like The Hub, that allows us to reach those struggling within our community.”

Simon Spavins, from Broadoak Management, who manage The Hub commented, “We really wanted to get past that £1,000 mark this year and thanks to everyone who helped spread the word about our campaign, we did it. It’s our pleasure to once again support this worthwhile local charity. The Hub wanted to play its part, even in a small way, to make sure they can carry on providing this invaluable support throughout the coming year.”
