After a successful Facebook campaign during December, The Hub has made good on its promise to donate over £500 to local charity Food Bank MK.

In the run up to Christmas, The Hub ran a campaign to get new ‘likes’ on its Facebook page. For every new like it received it promised to donate £1 to this worthwhile local charity, specifically chosen because The Hub is the city’s premier restaurant quarter.

Over 500 new likes during the month raised a big amount for the charity that provides local families and individuals with essential food supplies at a time when they need it most, covering the days or sometimes weeks before other parts of the social care infrastructure can come into play.

In January, The Hub management team visited the Food Bank’s warehouse to take a look at the work done by a willing team of volunteers and to hand over the cheque plus some food donations from the restaurants and staff within   The Hub.

Simon Spavins, Broadoak Management commented “It was our pleasure to support this worthwhile charity and to see a little of the work they do for the people of Milton Keynes. The Hub wanted to play its part, even in a small way, to make sure they can carry providing this invaluable support throughout the year.”
